Different cases call for different EV charging station configurations. Keeping this in mind we have come to develop a new station configuration that adheres to the safety standards and is compliant with the current regulations in the EU markets. Moreover, the new configuration brings the metering precision already integrated into the station. It is designed to satisfy clients in need of solutions that can be used in practical cases of reimbursement, residential multi-dwelling, dynamic tariff systems and other requirements.
Precision and Safety in One Place
When we were developing the new version of the INCH Pro charging station the primary focus was to improve it for the installer and the whole installation process. By integrating both the RCBO protection and a MID-certified energy meter directly into the station, we addressed two very important and critical issues: How to reduce the installation time and eliminate the need for an additional power locker which was previously needed while still offering both practical aspects of the station? This simplifies the whole charging setup but more importantly, it also reduces the cost of labour work significantly. Not having to buy the components separately and connecting the charging station to a separate power locker makes the installation much more cost-effective.
With the MID meter already integrated into the station this configuration is particularly advantageous in cases where precise and accurate billing is crucial for the implementation. This is especially true in cases like workplace settings, residential multi-dwelling or fleet operators, where precise per-vehicle charging data is important for cost reporting.
Built-in RCBO enhances safety and ensures compliance with regulations about the protection from electrical faults. This is particularly important in environments like hospitality buildings, where there are guests, whose safety is always a priority and safe charging is a non-negotiable factor. Moreover, it makes the new configuration much more suitable for residential settings like garages and areas where space is limited, due to RCBO not having to be placed in a separate power locker.

Having both the RCBO and MID meter already integrated into the charging station is crucial to be able to perform the installations more efficiently. With the simplified installation process, installations can now be completed more quickly and easily, enabling installers to accomplish more within the same timeframe. This improvement also contributes to a lower overall cost of ownership.
