Landis+Gyr has created a strategic partnership with Norwegian software developer Powel to target customers in Scandinavia.
The collaboration was mutually beneficial to capturing more of the market in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Gunnar Brennekasa, managing director at Landis+Gyr Norway, said: “For Landis+Gyr Norway this agreement is of importance since both Powel and L+G have been in the Norwegian market for many years and are looking forward to further develop the market.
“It is for both companies’ joint customers also important to see that with this partnership, they are getting the most for their investment.”
Meter data collection
Both Landis+Gyr and Powel will contribute to the data collecting process based on the IPv6 communication protocol.
Powel will supply meter management and meter data management system Elin to read Landis+Gyr’s smart meters over the G3 PLC network.
It will also read Land+Gyr’s head end system Gridstream.
Hans Alesund, country manger for Sweden at Landis+Gyr, said the agreement showed the company’s commitment to “openness and standardization”.
