Landis+Gyr, a leading global supplier of energy management and smart grid solutions, works in partnership with Siemens for EDP (Energias de Portugal) to deploy smart meters in 2017 and 2018.
A Dutch consortium led by the two largest grid operators in the Netherlands has introduced an initiative to make the world a better place. The idea behind the Fair Meter initiative is to only use ecologically sustainable and socially acceptable devices within the catchment area of the consortium – thereby hopefully changing the entire electronics market.
SK Forsyning and Landis+Gyr have signed a contract for a comprehensive smart metering solution. In addition to AMI meters and software, Landis+Gyr will provide a wide range of services for a total of 12 years, to support an efficient rollout and subsequent operation of the smart metering solution.
Landis+Gyr extends its product portfolio with ULTRAHEAT® T330 / ULTRACOLD® T330, the new ultrasonic meter for residential heating and cooling applications. The T330 delivers top-level measurement accuracy and stability, robust design and easy handling.
Landis+Gyr, the global leader in transforming how energy is delivered and managed, has a long track record as a smart meter solution provider and of offering managed services to utilities. With more than 15 million metering points in managed services in the US, the company is also proud to be a leading AMI service provider in Finland since 2002. Today, Landis+Gyr has taken an important step in extending its service business in Europe with the addition of Caruna’s service operations.
The Internet of Things (IoT) opens the gate for endless opportunities in the energy sector. Unfortunately, such diverse opportunities can arouse another type of energy: the malicious one. The threat of unanticipated security breaches is not only about loss of income or reduced customer satisfaction, but finally about consumer privacy and ultimately about electricity network stability.
